If the state wants to tax transactions with digital currencies, then it needs to legalise such transactions. This was stated by Pavel Krasheninnikov, head of the Legislation Committee of the Lower House of Parliament.
On February 17, in the first reading, the State Duma of the Russian Federation adopted a bill prepared by the government on taxation of income received from transactions with digital assets.
Krasheninnikov stressed that before collecting the tax, it is necessary to fully legalise transactions with tokens. In addition, it is necessary to legally work out a mechanism for transferring cryptocurrency by inheritance, the parliamentarian said during a meeting with deputies of the Yekaterinburg City Duma.
He also added:
If the digital currency is recognised in any way, in a limited way or in some other form, then there must be at least some regulation.
Note, that recently the head of Federal Financial Monitoring Service, Yury Chikhanchin, told the Russian President Vladimir Putin that his department had developed a service to control the movement of funds in cryptocurrency. This way, the state will be able to minimise the risks of criminal use of tokens.
