The Financial Times reported last week that companies made the decision under pressure from regulators. Here’s how companies commented on their exit from the project:
eBay: “We value Libra’s aspirations, but instead of developing a joint project, we will develop a controlled payment service for our customers”
Stripe: “We support companies that are trying to make e-commerce accessible to a large number of users, and Libra has potential. We will closely monitor its development and remain open for collaboration with the Association in the future. ”
The official meeting of the Libra Association will be held next week. To date, 25 companies are members of the Association, which will sign the Charter of the organization and confirm their intention to participate in the project in the future.
